Chris Howlett continues to produce outstanding results this season, with the small but sharply focused stable now sitting on 14 wins — including a Sunday night double courtesy of rising two‑year‑old Haveyoumetmaynard and stable star Shesallaboutluv.
Howlett’s strike rate has been exceptional, returning a 36.2% winners‑to‑runners ratio for the season.
Shesallaboutluv added yet another feature to her remarkable campaign, notching her ninth win of the season. After stepping away safely from the stand, the Always B Miki mare settled one‑out and three‑back before driver Ethan Arnott unleashed her at the 400‑metre mark. By the time they straightened, she had the race in her keeping, putting her rivals away inside the final 150 metres.
Promising juvenile Haveyoumetmaynard, having just his second race start, was equally impressive. He dominated the 2YO maiden, scoring by 23.7 metres with the hood still on, and clocking a 1:56.3 mile rate — trimming 0.4 seconds off the previous two‑year‑old track record held by Offthetopofmyhead since 2016.
The Howlett family now turn their attention to Queensland, where their top‑liner Triedtotellya will contest the Inter Dominion at Albion Park. Haveyoumetmaynard, meanwhile, will head to the paddock for a short break after the stable declined an invitation to next month’s $500,000 Protostar, preferring to give the youngster time rather than rush him north.
