Leading New South Wales standardbred nursery Cobbitty Equine Farm has unveiled four exciting additions to its stallion roster for the upcoming breeding season, headed by Meadowlands Pace winner Best In Show.

A son of Bettors Delight, Best In Show boasts an outstanding North American pedigree. His dam, Put On A Show, is a Hall of Fame racemare who earned more than $2.4 million on the track before becoming an elite producer. Among her progeny is It’s My Show, winner of both the North America Cup and the Little Brown Jug. Best In Show’s second dam, Stienam’s Place, was also a Dan Patch Award winner and Hall of Fame inductee, further highlighting the strength of his maternal family.

Joining him is Australian 3-Year-Old Colt of the Year Act Now, who moves to Cobbitty Farm after previously standing privately for owner Bruce Edwards in Victoria. The son of Somebeachsomewhere compiled an outstanding race record that included victories in the Victoria Cup, Victorian Derby and Breeders Crown 3YO Final. He will stand the 2026 season at a service fee of $3,750.

Another exciting addition is School Captain, a son of Captaintreacherous who claimed the Breeders Crown and the Group 2 Vicbred Home Grown Final. He is out of the Bettors Delight mare Yankee Showgirl, a daughter of the outstanding broodmare Aston Villa, whose progeny include Group 1 performers Poster Boy, Yankee Rockstar and Born To Rocknroll.

Completing the quartet is four-time Group 1 winner Expensive Ego, one of Australia’s most accomplished pacers. Along with multiple Group 2 and Group 3 victories, he famously swept all three heats of the 2021 Inter Dominion Championship before being relegated from first placing in the Grand Final following a stewards’ inquiry.

Expensive Ego is royally bred, being by Rock N Roll Heaven from the Perfect Art mare Art Start. An exceptional producer, Art Start has left nine foals to race, all of them winners, with eight earning in excess of $100,000.

Like Act Now and School Captain, Expensive Ego is also eligible for the $500 HRNSW Colonial Stallion Bonus Scheme, adding further appeal for breeders.

The addition of Best In Show, Act Now, School Captain and Expensive Ego provides Cobbitty Farm with one of its strongest and most diverse stallion line-ups in recent years, offering breeders access to proven racehorses backed by elite bloodlines and lucrative breeding incentives
