Harness Breeders NSW continues to put its support behind breeders and owners, with the Harness Breeders NSW Pink Diamond Stakes providing another opportunity to showcase a well-bred young pacer.
And Go Easy On Me certainly did anything but that to her rivals when producing an impressive performance to claim the feature.
The impeccably bred filly, trained by Courtney Laker and driven by Luke McCarthy, stopped the clock in a slick 1:52.2 mile rate, defeating One More Reason and Highindelight, who filled the minor placings.
By champion sire Bettor’s Delight USA from the seven-time winner Cloudlet, Go Easy On Me possesses a pedigree packed with quality.
Cloudlet was a talented racemare in her own right, winning seven races, and is a half-sister to Lochinvar Jag, a winner of more than $234,000.
The family also boasts strong Group 1 credentials, with Cloudlet closely related to outstanding performers Lombo Skyrider and Lombo Pocket Watch.
Go Easy On Me’s victory was also rewarded through the ongoing support of Harness Breeders NSW.
In addition to the race prizemoney, the winning connections received an embroidered rug and garland courtesy of Harness Breeders NSW, while financial bonuses were provided to the connections of each of the first three placegetters.
The winner received a $1,000 bonus, with $500 going to the connections of both the runner-up and third placegetter.
The Pink Diamond Stakes is another example of Harness Breeders NSW providing direct incentives to participants while promoting the importance of breeding and ownership within the industry.
For breeders, races such as the Pink Diamond Stakes offer more than additional prizemoney. They provide an opportunity to showcase locally bred and eligible horses while rewarding the people who invest in producing and racing the next generation of standardbreds.
On this occasion, it was the beautifully bred Go Easy On Me who grabbed the spotlight — and with a pedigree containing some outstanding performers, her Pink Diamond Stakes victory may only be the beginning.
